Selling an item

If you are considering selling an item at auction, Hampstead Auctions Ltd will be pleased to help and advise you. Your goods will be thoroughly researched and widely publicised prior to being offered for sale.

We offer a free auction valuation service at our offices during office hours, you may be asked to leave goods with us for research purposes prior to a valuation being offered. If you have a large item or multiple items you wish to sell we will arrange to visit you to carry out valuations.

Please telephone us on 020 7431 9445 if you wish to make an appointment or discuss any aspect of selling at auction. We are happy to agree a reserve price with you, and you may fix the reserve or authorise the auctioneer to use his discretion (usually 10% below the reserve price). When you consign goods for sale you will agree to be bound by our terms and conditions, please take particular note of the terms of consignment.

Payment and Sellers’ Commission

We pay the proceeds of sold consigned lots to the seller in cash or by cheque on Fridays, eight days after the auction, provided that we have been paid by the buyer. Payment for private treaty sales will be made to the seller five working days after payment is received by us.

We charge a sellers commission of 17.63% inclusive of VAT.
